==================================

Here's a beautiful shot of 2 of Kristina's girls, you can see the coop & run in the background, which her husband built. An urban chicken-keeper's paradise!(Red Deer)
From Eileen, "..my parents on their 61st wedding anniversary. They asked if they could just sit and watch the chickens. Afterward, they said that it was so relaxing watching them and listening to their cheerful sounds" (Red Deer)
Eileen's coop is portable.

I adore Lacy's idea of using real baskets for the laying nests -every day is Easter, especially if you have a blue or green egg layer!! (Calgary)

In case you were wondering if dogs and chickens can get along, here's one of Arlee's photos to prove that they certainly can. (Red Deer)

Here's another one from Arlee -isn't that a magnificent coop?! She keeps bantams (which are essentially miniature hens) so re-purposing a dresser is a perfect fit. (Red Deer)

Here Adrienne's son and Barb the Barred Rock prove that urban hens can get quite accustomed to being held -and are kid-friendly!! (Red Deer)
Another happy kid with her urban hen! (Deborah, Red Deer)
Dayle has turned an unused trampoline into an easily-enclosed run for her flock. (Sundre, AB)
One of Deborah's birds models a coop available at Peavey Mart. While this coop is neat and would be easy to clean, note that it is uninsulated, so it would require some tweaking (insulation and/or heat lamps)  to keep local (Red Deer & central Alberta) flocks warm enough through our sometimes-nasty winters.
Here's my finished coop and run. The girls are all hanging around the door, wondering why I'm taking photos and not feeding them snacks -they are greedy little turkeys!! But they give me lots of amazing eggs, so I don't mind one bit! (Charity -Red Deer)

Here are my first pullets upon their arrival in my coop, which I built with 90% salvaged materials. (Chair, Red Deer)
